...nually fighting for equal rights. As years pass women are moving forward in the direction of equality. However, women have not reached this status and the struggle for equality. Women on a daily basis try to fight society's preconceived notion that men are better. In order for a woman to obtain the same employment opportunities as men she would have to work twice as hard. And despite all of this extra work a women endures that she is still treated unequally. Presently a man is paid more than a woman even though they are both performing the same type of work. A women that works twice as hard at her job than a man will go unnoticed. For example, women athletes are not given the same attention as male athletes. Not until recently the Women National Basketball Association was not established. American women basketball players who wanted a career in playing basketball would have to go overseas to do so. Women are constantly struggling for the recognition that they deserve. Women are viewed as a sexual object. In order for them to receive this recognition they have to make a stance in the male's eyes as something more than a sexual figure. They have to talk and make sure they are being listened to and not just gawked at. Women have to get the listeners to remove their attention from their bodies and to their subject.
