"The Giver" book review about Utopia
...like my parents choosing my husband. I can’t imagine that because they don’t know the guys I like and don’t like. As I said before, there are good points and bad points in not having choices, but I’m afraid that the bad outweighs the good. Can you imagine not being able to see color in your life? I cant at all! I LOVE looking at beautiful sunsets and rainbows. I’m sure I’m not the only one either. I also enjoy seeing the color of my clothes I wear, the color of my room, and many different things with color. My room has many colors in it. It gives it personality. Colors express my feelings. When I think of the color black I think of sadness, and pink makes me think of cheerfulness and happiness. Without color, there are no beautiful sights, choices of color, and personality. Now I have been talking about all of the disadvantages of no color, but I must say there are a few good points of no color. Without color you don’t have different skin colors. With no different skin colors then there are no judging people because of their skin. This is very good because our world today is still battling racism. It isn’t as bad as it used to be, but it is still existent unfortunately. Having no color has many advantages and disadvantages, but I would not like being able to see color at all! Don’t you love looking at the glistening snow in the sun after the first snowfall? What about lying out in the warm sun in the summertime? Well, if you live in Utopia, you can forget about that! They have climate control. The weather is the same all year round. There aren’t even any refreshing spring showers to water the flowers and cool them off. Summer is probably my favorite time of the year. I like to lie out in the sun and get a tan. There is none of that in Utopia. This can be good though, because this reduces the chance of skin cancer, and you also wont get sun burnt or sun poisoning. So no sun can be good and bad, it’s just the way you think about it. There is also no bad weather. This is very good because that means people wont get in accidents becaus...
