The preeminent attitude that people had towards domacracy was one that could not by rivaled by disregard. There for, people who are so loyal to the democratic way of living only see it right and fitting to spread the view points and beliefes of democracy to the people who they see as less fourtunate, which in this case would be the Native Americans. Not only could the American people move forward, expand and gain land for their benefit, they could also consider it as “helping” the misguided uneducated peoples of the west. They would introduce them to this “fair” system of government and at the same time, extort them of their own land and their own way of living. But what justified their expansion to the west was the manifest destiny, the dream that this American nation would one day become the most powerful nation in the world, and that the expansion to the west was by all means necessary. The Native Americans were a people of rich culture and heritage, which has all been destroyed by the American’s “destiny”.
