This marks the beginning of his “rebellion.” He then meets Julia, who he secretly falls in love with. They begin to have sexual relations, which is also forbidden. Winston believes that there is a secret party against the brotherhood. He meets O’Brien whom hints to Winston that his intuition is correct. Little does he know, O’Brien is party of the inner party and is devising a plan to catch Winston in his “obscene” acts. They think they are in a sacred place with no screens.
