...ill be condemned for eternity. Pascal’s philosophy is so logic because we can be certain that if he does not exist and we live like if he did, we would only miss some material pleasures. In order to make a choice we need to put both outcomes into a balance. Reason and logic would tell us is it much safer to believe in God. The problem is that one can not force himself to believe. I can be certain of this statement because I live by it. Eventhough I was raised completely and totally catholic I am not certain of the existence of God. I have all the biblical proofs there are, but my mind is practical and scientific it would not surrender to them. Even before I read about Pascal I knew that the consequences of my not believing in God would hurt me so much more than believing in him right now. Inspite trying several times it is impossible to fabricate faith. Faith is what the atheists lack. This trust in something you can not proof a 100% and that not only seems true to you, but makes you behave in a different way and do things others wouldn’t normally do. For me this is the key to believing, but this key choses you, one can not chose to have faith or not. You just have it, without any further explanations. If you say and prommulgate you believe in God, even though you don’t, because is safer, wouldn’t it be worse than saying nothing at all or accepting you don’t believe? God asks for honesty, in my opinion the position described above shows nothing but hipocrecy and convenie...
