Muslims in the west
... of god, Muhammad said to the men and women: “Move aside, for you have no right to walk in the middle of the road; you should walk at the sides of the road.” Then a woman would walk so close to the walls that her garment would catch on the wall because she walked so close to it.”(Dawood, 5272).The mixing of men and women, the crowding of them together in one place, and exposure of males and females is prohibited in the shar’ah, Islamic law. The reason why mixing is prohibited is because it causes great trials, temptation and desires which leads to wrongdoing and sinning. In public schools this is the case which is young Muslims have difficulty in lowering his or her gaze. Also in public schools a lot of group work is done in which students have to communicate with the opposite sex which is against the shari’ah but it can benefit you also. Some of the benefits in public schools is you learn good verbal skills through discussions and debates. Public schools also allow one to express your thoughts in an essay or in a class discussion.
