... of 378 negative thoughts. My category with the most was Profanity, with 123. My lowest tally was in the category of Angry and Spiteful thoughts. I only had 27 thoughts in that category. 2. Discussion of Data: I found that I had a lot more negative thoughts on weekend days. I think this is because I am around more people and a lot more goes on. I found that I use a lot more profanity than I expected. When I look at this data it makes me feel like I’m a pretty negative person, but I don’t think you can base what kind of person you are with a project about your thoughts. However, I do believe if I tried cutting down on profanity it would make me a more positive person. II. Positive Thinking A. Hypothesis: I think that in doing this project I will find that I do not have many positive thoughts. I think I will have a lot fewer positive thoughts than negative thoughts. B. Data Collection Method: I used the same method as I did for the negative thinking project, tallying up the thoughts at the end of the day. C. Week One Analysis: 1. In the first week I had a total of 43 positive thoughts. My high in one day was 9, and my low was 3. 2. Top six types of positive thinking: Accepting Others, Enjoying People, Generally Complimenting, Self Discipline, Forgiving, and Use of Humor. D. Week Two Analysis: 1. In week two I found that I had the same amount of positive thoughts as week one. I had the most positive thoughts in the category of Use of Humor with 13. My lowest tally was 4, in the categories Self Discipline and Generally Complimenting. 2. Discussion of Data: Overall, it was pretty surprising how few positive thoughts I have. I found that I don’t compliment people very often. I did find that I use a lot of humor which is good. ...
