...Development: • On the board, the teacher draws a web diagram with Puberty written in the middle. The children are put into groups of four and they brainstorm the changes puberty brings about. In order to indicate the changes they have gone through and the changes they might expect they are encouraged to compare themselves to an adult they know. • When the children are ready, the group leader (of each group) discusses the outcomes of his/her group discussion. Each new idea is written in the web diagram on the board. • The teacher must make sure that each of the following changes are discussed in greater detail through the web diagram. Acne Perspiration Pubic hair Grow taller Shoulders and chest broaden Breast develop Voice deepens Muscles Hips widen Genitals grow larger • Teacher asks the students: How old are boys and girls when they go through puberty? Girls change between the ages of 9 and 16. Boys change between the ages of 10 and 16. • However the teacher must emphasize that:  Everyone changes at his/her very own rate.  Some will begin to change earlier or later than others.
