The likelihood is the previously successful schools with good scores will find its average scores pulled down significantly by the arrival of new students without adequate funding. To me, this does not seem like much of a reform at all. Therefore the under funding of the “No Child Left Behind” Act has made its goals unrealistic. Moving on, we have the issue of testing implicated by the NCLBA. Right now teachers are so worried about all the testing that needs to be done that it leaves less time to work with the students’ one on one. Teachers under the NCLBA are supposed to make sure all children have a chance to learn to their potential, but with all the implicated testing the teachers have no time to work with students on an individual basis. I think the testing our schools go through since “No Child Left Behind” is extreme. In some cases, there might not be a problem, but because of the implicated testing, problems will erupt. The goal of implicated testing is to help solve the problems we are having in our schools today. The goals of the implicated testing revolving around the NCLBA are unrealistic. Finally, Bush gave the parents of these children false hopes when he said he was going to improve teacher quality programs. President Bush wants “highly qualified” teachers in every classroom.
