...ry training and sustainment training. - Maintain detailed training records of the company’s 13 LAV-25 crews. - Coordinate, assist, evaluate 13 LAV-25 crews in the semi-annual LAV Gunnery Skills Test. - Coordinate with the battalion master gunner for 25mm ranges, training devices and 25mm qualification and evaluation. - Assist the maintenance section in performing 25mm gun LTI’s. - Assist the Company Gunny and XO in 25mm ammunition planning and allocation. - Train company LAV-25 crew evaluators to assist in platoon level gunnery training. Communications Chief - Maintain and account for over $200,000 worth of communications gear for 142 Marines and 25 LAV’s. - Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company’s communications section. - Assume the duties of Headquarters Platoon Sergeant in his absence. - Ensure proper desktop procedures and turnover binder are up-to-date and in-place. - Advise the commanding officer on all communications readiness and other related issues. - Supervise all 1st echelon preventive maintenance and coordinate all 2nd echelon repairs for communication assets within the company. - Ensure the company maintains continuous communication with higher or supported units by VHF, HF, and UHF Radio. RAMP CHIEF/ ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE CHIEF - Responsible to the maintenance chief for supervising the 2d echelon maintenance support on 25 Light Armored Vehicles. - Assists in maintaining calibration, modification, preventive maintenance, JOAP publications and tool control for the company and maintenance section. - Assists in the coordination of all logistical and maintenance support associated with the company in the field and in garrison. - Responsible to the maintenance chief for the development of subordinate leaders and vehicle commanders. - Responsible to the maintenance chief for the general conduct, discipline and appearance of the eight Marines comprising the maintenance platoon. - Responsible for the maintenance of all weapons and equipment organic to the maintenance platoon. POLICE SERGEANT - Ensure all CMR items within the BEQ are properly maintained, updated and accounted for. - Identify BEQ deficiencies and ensure work requests are submitted in a timely manner to Battalion S-4. - Assist the Company Gunnery Sergeant in Quarterly Garrison Property and CMR Inventories. - Submit Monthly Billeting Reports to Battalion S-4. - Ensure 100% key accountability and control. - Supervise and inspect all Company BEQ areas. - Assume the role of Headquarters Platoon Sergeant in his absence. MAINTENANCE CHIEF - Supervise all 2nd echelon preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. - Coordinate the evacuation of all equipment requiring 3rd echelon maintenance to battalion maintenance. - Advise the commanding officer and maintenance officer on vehicle readiness. - Control and supervise the company’s JOAP, calibrations, tool control, HAZMAT and associated records. - Ensure proper desktop procedures and turnover binder are up-to-date and in-place. - Supervise 9 2nd echelon mechanics in the performance of their duties. - Ensure the safety of all personnel in the shop. - Ensure that all vehicle modifications are installed, tracked and properly recorded. - Supervise the company’s compliance with the battalion’s Admin Deadline Program. - Manage the company’s layette parts bin. - Supervise the company MIMMS clerk in the performance of his duties and manage all functional areas of maintenance management. MEU MAINTENANCE CHIEF - Supervise all 2nd echelon preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance. - Coordinate the evacuation of all equipment requiring 3rd echelon maintenance to the CSSG. - Supervise the detachment’s MIMMS clerk in the performance of his duties and manage all functional areas of maintenance management. - Control and supervise the detachment’s JOAP, calibrations, tool control, HAZMAT and associated reports. - Advise the detachment commander and BLT commander on vehicle readiness. - Ensure proper desktop procedures and turnover pertaining to publications are accurate. - Ensure all vehicle modifications are installed, tracked and properly recorded. - Manage the detachment’s layette parts bin. - Assist the detachment commander in ensuring that proper crew 1st echelon maintenance is being conducted. - Supervise two 2nd echelon mechanics in the performance of their duties. PLATOON SERGEANT - Lead, teach, and supervise Marines. - Tactically employ an LAV section (2 LAV-25s). - Coordinate and supervise the logistical and administrative requirements for the platoon in the field and in garrison. - Assist the platoon commander in the planning, execution, and evaluation of all platoon level training. - Ensure the morale and welfare of the Marines in the platoon. - Assume the role of Platoon Commander in his absence. - Counsel subordinate Marines on their performance. - Supervise the platoon 1st echelon LAV maintenance program and coordinate 2nd echelon repairs. - Understand, plan and control indirect and aerial delivered supporting fires. WEAPONS PLATOON SERGEANT - Responsible to the Platoon Commander for the general conduct, discipline and appearance of the 17 Marines and one Navy Corpsman comprising the weapons platoon. - Responsible to the Platoon Commander for the internal function of the platoon. - Responsible to the Platoon Commander for the development of subordinate leaders, including the section leaders, and vehicle commanders. - Responsible to the Platoon Commander for the maintenance of: two LAV-Ms, four LAV-ATs, associated equipment, and weapons organic to the platoon. - Responsible for the coordination of all logistical support associated with the platoon both in garrison and in the field. - Assist the Platoon Commander in designing, implementing, and supervising all training of the platoon. - Required to be proficient in those missions identified in the battalion METL.
