Hinduism: Contributiing to the Creation of New Religions
...life and not anyone else. We need to learn from our mistakes and take chances, but for Hindu’s most of this is not seen in their religion. Like the caste system, deities are another reason why new religions were born. Hindu’s do not just believe in one god, like most religions today, they believe in many gods. How many gods can one religion actually accumulate so their believers have someone to confide in and have faith in? One person cannot believe in 300 million gods at one time, and I do not think that you can believe in every one of them, even if they are on different occasions. New religions formed from this because maybe more people would start to believe if there was only one god, a true god that you could feel and love all the time. By having so many gods, you’re limiting the amount of worship and love that you feel for them. In reference to the caste system and deities in the Hindu religion, reincarnation is similar due to the fact that it also contributed to the outbreak of new religions. Some people do and some people don’t believe that after you die, you become reincarnated into a new form of life. The Hindu religion believes in reincarnation and just like the other two components mentioned above, this too had a part in the formation of different and new religions. Reincarnation is a big part in the Hindu religion. They believe that after death, you will be reincarnated into a new life form. If you become a human-being, then you will be born into the caste system according to your behaviour during your previous life. Once you are born into that new life form, you will not be able to change it until your death and even then, you have no say about what you will become. I find this system a little unbelievable because there is no proof that people do become reincarnated after death and I do not think that there ever will be. You will not know what the person may become, so there is no where to start looking for proof. You also will not remember anything from your previous life. This theory will be very hard to prove and until then, I do not think reincarnation does exist and if it does, then I will be looking forward to my after life, even though I will not remember anything. This could have contributed to the new religions, because they wanted to make a religion that has components that are believable so more people will become believers and have faith. Furthermore, the essence of the subjects mentioned above are combined with the equality of women and how these topics added to the creation of new religions. The women in the Hindu religion are treated disrespectfully and harshly. This topic provides another point on equality in this religion. The caste system shows how each person will be unequal to the next because everyone has a different level and some people are able to fulfill their life and some are not. Men and women and definitely not equal when it comes to Hindu’s, the women are slaves compared to the men. The women must abide to all of their husbands needs and feelings. They even have to be burned alive at their husband’s funeral. Women are no different then men, they should not be treated differently, and they should have freedom just like everyone else. Women also have a mind, and they should be allowed to use it however they like. This component plays a role in th...
