He compared blues to a grandfather watching over his children, meaning blues was the foundation of most modern music that people listen to today. King likes today’s young, black music. He is fond of rap and hip hop although he doesn’t like the cursing. King says rap is full of creativity. He states that rapper’s blues are in a different shape but still have the same ideas, singing about heartache and sorrows. Rapper’s rhythm is the rhythm of life which is the same rhythm as BB King’s. Blue’s is a simple music, King explained it by saying you sing 1 line, then repeat that line, and then rhyme the 3rd line with the first line.
