Film throughout time has given cultures across the world recognisable sterotypes, being Australian we are no different. Australians have been represented in film many different ways including, The aussie battler, the ruff and tuff bloke and a people that have a strong beliefe in mateship. ... This sterotype is built on the historical events that make up Australian history, for It is well known that the first settelers of the Australian continent were in fact convicts and their wardens, hence the fact that Austrailans are consistenly represented in film as a people that do not respect authority and a people that have a strong regaurd for mateship.
