Junk mail

When installed the spam filter is not perfect and need some “training” to be perfected. The spam filter use what is know as Bayesian scoring: each mail is given a score between 1 and 100 depending on which words are used, a higher score means that it is more likely to be junk. Each user sets his or her own limit, if a mail is over the limit it is thrown out as junk. If this limit is set to low important messages may get cough and if the number is to high junk mail is likely to escape the filter. Even if the filter are easing the burden for many there is still the chance of an important e-mail to get sent away as junk. This happened to Systemic Research and like Mrs. Carsco said in the article: “If you get the reputation for ignoring people, that could kill us”. So it is important to check the slagheap from time to time so that no important messages get couth in the filter.
