Without organization the reader can get lost in the statements you are making and totally miss the point of the essay. The relevance of the piece of writing to the assignment or prompt is just as essential to good writing as organization. If the work does not adhere to what it is suppose to answer or be about, the whole point of the paper is lost. If the writing prompt tells the author to write about the effects of King Edward’s reign on the people’s fashion in England, and they go into detail about his personal life, not connecting it to fashion, then the point of the paper is irrelevant. It confuses the reader therefore losing the effect the author wanted it to have. The ability of the reader to understand what they are reading is extremely important to good writing. Obviously, if the reader can’t understand the work, the work the author put into it is wasted. To understand a piece of writing, the paper needs to be written legibly or typed in a readable font.
