The Art of Courting

...em under her door before I went to school in the morning. I would then rush downstairs to Daniel’s house so we walk to the bus. Every morning she would be at the bus stop waiting for us. I would get to listen to the whole letter I wrote as she read it out loud to me and Daniel. I would get to hear her personal commentary and emotions just as she felt them. Two weeks into it she started to get frustrated with the whole mystery of it all. At around the same time I felt like I had gained enough courage to tell her it was me. I had her meet me on her rooftop at 9:00pm on a Saturday. I new her mother was at work. I had Daniel’s mom make me some spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread. Daniel helped me bring a table and chairs up to the roof. I set the mood of the evening. I put candles and white roses on a jet black table cloth. We dated for awhile but all good things come to an end. Priscilla moved away after dating me for six months. I worked hardest for the last one. Monica Addison was the woman of my dreams. She was down to earth, gorgeous, athletic, and honest everything I wanted in a woman at 20. I met Monica on the handball courts in Claremont Park in the Bronx. I was completely infatuated with her. I spent 3 months trying to get this girl to let me take her out. First, I started with sending her a different color rose everyday for a month.
