...hey felt that the Jim Crow Laws weren't fair. As citizens African Americans felt that they had the right to vote, because they paid taxes and helped to support the economy. This also showed a sign of further integration into society. Civil rights were scarce to blacks. Public education for blacks wasn't provided enough, leading to special institutions like the Tuskegee Institute founded by Washington. Segregation was still at large so many things that were availible to whites that weren't availible to blacks, eventhough in Plessy vs. Fergusson the court ruled to have everything "seperate but equal." Dubois founded the NAACP for blacks to have fair civil rights. Social justice was also scarce in society to blacks.
