When Ralph clutches the conch shell desperately as he spoke, after his participation in Simon’s death, it showed he new he was losing his power and his innocents. Also when the signal fire went out he goes crazy and is very upset, meaning that he was very motivated to be rescued. Later on in the novel when he nocks down the “lord of the flies” or the pigs head, represents his knowledge that evil exist within everyone, including his self. This plunges him into listless despair for the next few chapters. When he first hunts for pork it gives him exhilaration, the thrill of bloodlust, and violence. Ralph always speaks with strength, and courage. He never spoke without knowledge passion about the subject of which he spoke. The aspect of Ralph’s passion is powerful and a great thing to have. Ralph is full of motivation not only to be rescued, but also to be true to life and stay civilized. His motivation reveals a grown man in a 12years old chills body. He knows what he needs to do, and nothing will stop him, not even being hunted. He pushes along even when there is no one to support him.
