The ability to carry out creative and effective communication is the main goal of all learners. In the area of communication is where the strength of the school counselor lies. I believe in the psycholinguistic approach when working with students with different levels of English language proficiency which is based on the personal and intimate contact between student and the counselor (or teacher). This is applicable to small cooperative groups, which is a part of any comprehensive guidance and counseling program. The counselor plays a non-authoritarian and non-directive role and group activities should be student centered. When language is used to satisfy a strong desire to communicate, results can be impressive. 3.
