...ated Charles Darwin’s one hundred and ninety sixth birthday with a discussion on evolution. It is amazing that even today, people do not believe that evolution ever happened. Evolution is a process. Elements using evolution by natural selection need many things. They need; variation between individual, variation effects reproductive success, and variation is heritable. We experience evolution in our daily lives and we don’t even know it. The things we do to other people, ourselves and our environment affect evolution. The uses of evolution are all around us and because of evolution, we can live a lot longer. Doctors have found that anabiotics don’t do anything for viruses and should not be given to their patients. In past years, many doctors gave you antibiotics no matter what. They thought it would help even though it could not cure a virus. The fact is that giving you antibiotics when you don’t need them only makes your body immune to them. When penicillin was made available in 1943 it was a miracle drug that helped many people. But as time progressed, people became resistant to its affects. New drugs were made but the outcome was the same. Eventually people became immune to the new drugs affects. When we become resistant to a drug, it is almost like we are asking to pay more for medicine. The prices just go up and there is nothing we can do. The deadliest arms race today is the evolution of HIV. It evolves ten thousand times faster than each person and is also unique to each person.
