It's Not What You Do:It's How You Do It
...hey went to five days a week wasn the hardest part of the day, but the preparation it took to get there. Everyday chores, getting the kids to school, keeping the house running, cooking, feeding and cleaning were the things that wore them out. That because all of the above are work as well. Society has come to associate the work with something that is unpleasant, a necessary evil. But I think that it not so much the work itself as it is the whole struggle to live life the right way, be a good person, get things accomplished, growing up, and making something of ourselves. There is physical type of work as well as mental work. Both can be hard and rewarding. Some places may be harder and more intense as some citizens are harder to work with and work for. But, when you find decent work is when you find one that works them. To me this means that it is easier and more pleasurable to work around others that work hard too. A hard working waitress said, tell everyone I a waitress and I proud of it. If a nurse gives service, I say, ou e a professional. Whatever you do, be professional. I always try my hardest to compliment people. This individual liked her job and knew that her job was important in its own way. Some jobs are more prestigious than others, but we all rely on the work provided by the people with the less glamorous jobs. It not what you do, but how you do it. The only job I have had was in the less glamorous category. I worked part-time at Sunbody Tanning Salon for a year. I was responsible for answering the phone, making sales, helping customers, cleaning the tanning beds each time they were used, doing laundry and handling the payment transaction, over and over again. My job was stressful and I did not enjoy any aspect of my time at Sunbody. Fritjof Capra said, oing work that has to be done over and over again helps us to recognize the natural cycles, and become aware of the dynamic order of the universe (New Millennium Reader pg. 346). This job was both mentally and physically draining, but it made me appreciate how hard others have to work when a better job is not an option. I come from a family with a strong work ethic.
