...The Dynamics of the piece are ingenious from the softness of the violins in the beginning of each movement, to the sharp and growing volume in the middle of each section. The Timbre is the variety of string that is playing in the piece. The bass without the violin would not be a complete piece and would not have the same effect. The piece uses a few basic melodies in a pattern. The string orchestra is the compliment to this program music. The piece played as a whole completes it. (class 5: What Type Of Listener Are You?). When I first listened to this piece, I felt a rush of emotion. I felt peaceful and a little sad, however the feeling of sadness was not a bad one but one of release or being lifted.
