...out the furniture in a large room and made one continuous bed that all of us slept in. I flip through the rest of my birthdays; the water slide with all my cousins, the various shapes of birthday cakes and presents, loads of them always. I still love my birthdays so much, real special day this is for me. The pictures of all these days documenting my happiness always bring such warmth to my heart. Pictures of me and Mom in different parts of South Africa, Pakistan, France Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, India, United States of America, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain… fill me up with humility. In these few years, I have experienced and seen so much. It’s almost as if I’ve had so many lifetimes already. There are pictures of the common tourist attractions, the Louvre, St Peters Cathedral, shrines in Pakistan, the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower. My favourite ones however are the ones that have the funny stories attached to it. The picture of priests lying on the ground being blessed reminds me of the funniest story. We were attending the confirmation of new priests in Rome. My mom and I for some strange reason had the giggles mostly because it was all so serious certainly not out of disrespect. Failing to control our selves we step out of the church and try to turn the corner only to be confronted by a large group of robe clad, cross wielding, chanting priests.
