Easter Sunday

...pink floppy bow in. Right before it is time to go I get to put on my new, white dress shoes. We are ready to go. We get to church and I, holding my daddy’s hand, climb up the green stairs to the open and welcoming front door. We step into the coat room, and onto the deep maroon rug that goes all the way to the altar, in the very front of the church. We walk to the door leading into the worship area, and the preacher greets us there, shaking first my parents hands, then my sister and I hands. Commenting on ‘how lovely us ladies looked’ as I hid behind Dad. We then make our way down to the 5th pew from the front and sit on the left side. The pews are a stained wood with deep maroon seat covers that match the rug. We sing songs as Dad holds me. I lay my head down on his shoulder and I can hear the soft low rumbling of his voice as he sings quietly, as to make sure no one else can really hear him. I fall asleep in his arms once the sermon begins. My eyes shot open as I hear the song that means it’s almost time to go being sung. Then I start to get antsy, anxious to go to Granny and Grandpa’s house for Easter dinner. Once we get to Granny and Grandpa’s house dinner is almost ready, my cousins and I set the dinner table in the big dining room. The table cloth is a light yellow, with little white flowers on it. The plates are white and have blue designs around the outer edge. Time to eat, my whole family in the living room and kitchen join hands while Grandpa says ...
