Possible Solutions for the Sociological Problem of Church Pedophilia

I mean only that evil people tend to gravitate toward piety for the disguise and concealment it can offer them.” Child molesters tend to be in professions that will conceal them, yet are in a position to have access to their victims. Knowing this, and referring it back to church officials, we have to rethink the credentials of each official in the church. For the sake, or narrowing our thoughts, we will look specifically at the Catholic churches. If we know that child molesters are in a profession that conceal them, or portray them as being good and trustworthy. We take a look at the Catholic Church. First, we need parents to be aware of the dangers, even in a church setting. They need to be educated about who is most likely to be a pedophile. Most times, the child is assaulted in the church. The Catholic Church should have rules and regulations involving that a child should never be left alone with a clergyman. To compare, a doctor can never be left alone with a woman when doing a gynecological exam. He must have a nurse present at all times. If the Catholic Church did this, they would not only be protecting the child, but the clergyman as well. Another solution may be that there be strict guidelines for Catholic officials. For example, they should have to take psychological exams. This would eliminate a lot of potential pedophiles. Another example is that when beginning a new church, the official’s criminal record should have to be made aware to all of the congregation. This way, they could make assumptions themselves, and potentially take the children out of a dangerous situation. In looking at these solutions, one must realize that there are always consequences to actions. Education about pedophilia in the church is probably not going to be a high recommendation because it is going to turn off the general public to that certain religion. The mere thought of not letting a child be left alone with a church person seems ludicrous to a lot of people. If you can’t trust Christians you don’t have a lot of trust to begin with.
