Another advantage of Globalization of culture is the fact that people can now experience certain rituals and traditions that they would have never had the chance to do 20 years ago. While a good thing, Globalization of culture also has some negative aspects. While many people experience new cultures, the technology and progress is beginning to swallow up cultures as well. Certain indigenous peoples have to abandon many of their traditions just to survive in the ‘global’ world. They are being forced out of their old habits and thrown into the information superhighway. Many of the older people of those countries are appalled at this new generation for abandoning their roots. Another problem brought on by Globalization of culture is the Dependency Theory. This problem seeks to help under developed nations. Because of globalization, many countries develop a dependency for other, more powerful, nations to help them out and become angry when the countries don’t.
