Why does Egyptian art remain so static? Why does Greek art change so quickly? A reason why Egyptian art stays the same could be that while the country has a lot of outside influences they wish their culture, in this case their art, to remain the same. A second reason could be that the central authority that had control over the religious aspects also had control of the development of the arts. This would cause individual artists with different ideas or ways little opportunity to express themselves or to even have their work seen by anyone. Third, the art that was mainly expressed had to do with the afterlife.
