...nformation for our presentation and the information I got has astounded me. The site coordinator Robert Mitchell has changed my outlook because of how he has given so much of his time to the shelter by working twelve hour days to get the paper work, help with the people at the shelter and be able to look for more resources to keep the shelter going. He sits down with the people at the shelter to help them get jobs, getting their GED’s, help with counseling and many different things to help them get back on their feet. Before going to the shelter I had misjudged the people who went to them for help afterwards I saw how even whole families needed help even though you would never think they would. That even though you may not want the help from the shelter there are times when it is unavoidable and then you have that resource available to you. So although the actual volunteering part did not give me as much as it could the actual talking to someone who knows about the program and the people who are in need of these services has taught me so much more. This experience has taught me more wellness than I have ever known. Going to the shelter has given me physical wellness because of the cleaning and using the body to work.
