I also feel that if these Holy Scriptures had been written a thousand years later, the wording most certainly would have changed, as well as many of the thoughts but I still believe that if we looked to them for moral values they would hold true in providing us with the same reference as they do today. Without religion many cultures have come to form their own set of rights and wrongs, without religion a child can be taught morality. Religion has certainly had a profound influence on morality in today’s society, certainly in the United States, but I will not go to the extent that morality is dependent on religion. The way I look at the bible, and how it is ingrained into many aspects of our everyday life, thoughts, and actions many would think that morality is dependent on religion, but I feel that if there was no bible then there would have been something else for us to make reference to.
