They work in highly sterile areas usually in hospitals or private offices. Physicians tend to work very lengthy shifts that approximate to about 60-80 hours a week. Many physicians are on call for their patients at all times. Therefore, they are basically working all day, every day. They sometimes need to make visits to hospitals in order to care for their patients throughout the night. Next, in order to become a physician, you must complete many training requirements. After medical school is complete many M.D.s join a residency, which is on-the-job training. Residency ranges anywhere from 3 to 8 years. Fortunately, physicians have an impressive job outlook.
