Food For Thought On a chilly, damp October morning, the hunter sits sixteen feet above the ground on his makeshift deer stand. He is dressed in camouflage from head to toe, with a blackened net to cover his face. The sun is just starting to peek over the horizon. Its purple and orange rays glisten off of the dew forming on the brown grass that surrounds him on the edge of the tree line. Carefully watching and listening as dawn breaks, his breath draws heavier as the anticipation of killing a trophy buck is nearer. Across the dew covered field, stands two spotted fawns, a doe, and a trophy buck. With its thick, light brown antlers waving to and fro, the family of deer approaches his corner of the woods not knowing what is in store for them. He starts to stand moving ever so slow, ensuring not to startle the deer with any sudden movements. As he starts to draw his bow, his hearts starts beating rapidly. His heavy breathing causes him to break a sweat. As the deer approach, they stop to eat from an autumn olive bush as he release the arrow. In the blink of an eye, three deer vanish, with one left behind. He finally got the kill that others can only dream about.
