Epic of Gilgamish
Does the Epic of Gilgamesh make life less overwhelming and death less frightening? ... As for making death less frightening the epic could make death seem less overwhelming or even more so. In my opinion the Epic of Gilgamesh would make death less frightening because a person would know that after death there is not just darkness but a place to go to. ... For the people that have read this epic or who were told it orally what continues on after death is that a person would still serve the gods but in a different fashion.
