Turkey Hunting
...ifle though. You can also hunt turkeys while sitting on the ground, in a blind, or in a tree stand. Shotgun hunting for turkeys is without a doubt the most popular way to hunt turkeys. Most people think a hunter would just walk around and look for a turkey and when one is seen you blast it. Well let’s just say it doesn’t happen that way. People who hunt with shotguns call the turkeys in with their calls, and when the turkeys come within range, boom, they shoot them, not always hitting them but usually they will. Shotgun hunting for turkeys is by no means easy, though it can be easy at times but it can also be extremely hard at times, depending on the season you’re hunting. Fall hunting is different for the most part compared to hunting in the spring. You can’t just be any hunter; you have to know what you are doing. Bow hunting for turkeys is a whole different ball game. Most all bow hunters who try to bag a turkey use calls unless they’re lucky enough to know where the birds are going to go, but that takes a lot of studying the birds. If you are hunting in the fall, it may be easier to know where the birds are going to be, but if you’re hunting in the spring time you will probably have to call unless you know the birds real well. For the most part, hunting with a bow for turkeys is the most challenging way to hunt them because bow hunters must be close and they have to cover up their movements. Most archery hunters use blinds to do this type of hunting. Some states allow you to hunt turkeys with a rifle but most states don’t. This type of hunting wouldn’t be that challenging if you were good with your rifle. If you were to ask me, the only challenging part about hunting a turkey with a rifle would be to hit them in a spot were you wouldn’t destroy the meat. This type of ...
