...e best thing we can do is to let them aware about the negative effects of drugs. Once a person tries it, there’s a possibility that he or she can be addicted to it. For instance, the 15 year old girl in the Go Ask Alice, she promises many times that she will never going to try it again. Instead of resisting it, she become more curious about the different effects of other drugs. She wants to try it all. Even she doesn’t want to use drugs anymore, she still keeps using it. When the addicts lose their money, they’ll try to find money by selling drugs. In my country, Philippines, addicts and pushers are all over the place. Many teenagers are affected by this drugs. It is like a virus which is very hard to cure or impossible to remove. Even the police are the pushers. If I got kids someday, I’m going to tell them that they shouldn’t trust easily to anybody. They should know how to pick their true friends. I know it’s hard to tell which one is good or bad. They should be careful to choose to hangout with, or else this would be the beginning of their end. Drugs can be avoided if there’s understanding, listening, and caring to each other in the family. These are the elements needed to have strong communication with the children. Kids should be open to their parents especially when they have serious problems. If they can’t tell them, there’s a possibility to find other ways to solve their parents. Sometimes, they think drugs will help them to avoid their barriers. I know it’s hard to open a problem with parents. I’m thinking they may get mad at me...
