...t, how do these gangs affect a community? Is there some sort of bond between gangs and the community? As we read in the article by Martin Sanchez Jankowski, we come to an understanding that a bond does exist. Let’s take for example, the elimination or damage to property by gang members. Just because someone wants the gang to destroy a building, doesn’t mean that it will happen. They will find out who lives there, if the people have another place to live and how it will affect their community. It is almost guaranteed that they will refuse a job in their own neighborhood if it will bring harm to the people in their own area. In return, the community is aware that the gang is a group that will be there when needed in particular situations when force is necessary, especially if a gang from another area is brought in to do the job.
