While most of the programs broadcast in CETV are foreign content (60%), Star TV took a different approach having all their programs in local format, with a theme of Xing Kong Wei Shi. Although both these Satellite TV took a different approach in their programs format, both share the same formula of less political news. Another equally competitive cable was public broadcasting CCTV, which aired eight different channel in Mainland China. Although there is a current limitation that censorship and quotas impose on foreign shows, CCTV has shown a growing demand for European show, especially documentaries. All of this Satellite Televisions are competing heavily in terms of their television program to attract audience to watch their program. Their main sole purpose is to increase their advertising revenue.
