Greek Statue With the Discus Thrower when I tried the pose it was hard to stay in balance. After trying to do the pose as close to the statue as possible it seems to me that just staying in that position for a long time would be painful so I can not imagine the artist having a model. ... In the era in which this piece was made the art had developed from a statue to showing emotion to showing motion and this piece shows the basic movement of the thrower.
