NECESSARY WAYS TO OFFER RELIEF TO THE LESS FORTUNATE PEOPLE IN LAGOS, NIGERIA.
...han a hundred pounds. Not only has Olamide roamed the earth for four years (the average time it would take to complete medical school) acutely impoverished, but she also has absolutely no one to turn to. Hypothetically speaking, this is just a brief sketch epitomizing the type of life many less fortunate people are faced with today in Lagos, Nigeria. There are also many more instances of poverty that affect men, women and children in Lagos, Nigeria. Starvation, disease, death, lack of shelter, the list is abysmal. Ironically, there are people in the same region whose life experiences are the exact opposite of these impoverished people. The bridge between the affluent and destitute is so long, and sadly, it lengthens incessantly each day. Fortunately, we need not be despondent, as horrific as this seems, for there are numerous ways to help. An example of a Payroll Giving Agency is Charities Aid Foundation, though there are many in existence. Another way of making charitable donations is through business donations. There are two main ways for small businesses to make charitable donations, each of which benefit good causes without costing more than they need to. These ways are financial donations and donations in-kind. Financial donations are straightforward cash donations made by business to charity which can be deducted as a “charge” when working out profits for corporation tax payments. If the business is not incorporated (ie sole trading or partnership) then any money donated will be as individuals, rather than through the business.
