... two amazing people that I am still friends with. I had a lot of fun that year and was looking forward to what good things the next year would bring. My sophomore year was a very fun filled year. I joined many things that year. I joined the West University Baptist Youth Group. My friend John was in the band there and he invited me to join the group. I had a lot of fun with them. I also joined Venture Crew- it is a co-ed boy scout troop. With the Venture Crew we did a lot of things. We went camping numerous times, an we went to Schlitterbahn, we also went rock climbing a few times. We also sold pies during thanksgiving and Christmas to help pay for our activities. Things in school were alright too. I had to quit Belle’s during Christmas because my grades were dropping. All of the after school practices and football games were really starting to affect my grades. During Spring Break my family went on a skiing trip to New Mexico. I had a blast. It was my first time seeing snow. The minute I got my skis on I was flying down these little hills. Unfortunately I got sick and I was only able to ski for that one day. But I am so glad that I got the experience to go. That is definitely one trip that I am never going to forget. My first time actually seeing snow. It was amazing. When junior year started I could not believe that my high school career was half over. At the beginning of my junior year we moved back into our house after being in an apartment for a year. Our house had been flooded in Tropical Storm Allison. About a week after we moved back into our house I was voted president of the venture crew. I was very excited and scared at the same time. This meant that I was to lead all of the meetings that we were to have during the year and I was also supposed to organize all of the camping trips and other activities that we would have during the year. It was a big job but I was ready for the challenge. During the year I started taking drivers ed through Safeway Driving School at the Jewish Community Center. I was very excited to finally be able to drive. But, unfortunately, I had waited so long to take the class that I would have to wait six months before I could get my license because of the new law that had taken affect. I didn’t mind though. I was just glad to finally be getting my license. During the year I failed algebra 2 so I decided to take algebra 2 A & B, and all of chemistry in summer school. I was very glad that I decided to take them in summer school because I got really good grades in both of the classes. Senior year was finally there. A week before it even started I had to go and take my senior portraits. I couldn’t believe it was actually happening. Senior year was officially starting.
