... their own citizens. Adolph Hitler was a genius for his ability with propaganda. Even though most of it was triggered toward youths, he had a great talent to manipulate the public by appealing to the interests and needs of certain type of people. Propaganda was more wide spread in Germany than in any other nation at the time. For Hitler to be more successful, he hired his loyal friend, Dr. Goebell, to help him with it. They used books, movies, posters, statues, and pictures, and obviously fear; basically all sorts of false advertisement to get peoples attention. Their main goal was to corrupt ‘Hitler’s youth’ or the young citizens of Germany. After the research, an article in the National Archives said, “Approximately 350,000 photographs were found that provide a pictorial history of the Nazi Party, its rise to power, and all aspects of the war from the Nazi point of view”. Later on in the article they talk about Hitler’s ways of corrupting the children, they say that they found, “filmstrips highlighting news events relating to German history, used to indoctrinate Hitler’s Youth members.” They also found a very popular movie “Jew-Suss” which is the most notorious of the anti-Semitic feature films sponsored by the Nazis. It was shown throughout Europe during the war. Overall, Hitler was very successful in what he did. His goal was to kill all the Jews, which didn’t work, but unfortunately he did manage to kill sixty three percent of their entire population (Holocaust Statistics). As horrifying at it sounds, it shows his success and determination to achieve his goals. At the same time as Adolph Hitler is putting out those posters and showing those movies, all allied forces, including The United States are doing the same thing. Just like the Nazi party, everyone else used this powerful tool to manipulate their own citizens. The United States had everything one can possibly think of. They also made movies, printed posters, put little cartoons and poems about the Nazis in the newspapers. They made up their own songs and even accepted this hatred into their religion. No one thought of this as propaganda at the time, it just looked natural because of the war, but its crucial and devastating when Nazis do it. Propaganda can be used to forwar...
