Jealousy
...d school had just about every part of my body yearning to go back to bed after a 6 o’clock wake up call. About 10-15 minutes later; just before I put my head back down, I decided to take in the glorious moment one last time by raising my head to open the window. As the bitterly cold breeze hit my face like a refreshing mountainous breeze I noticed the black patch on my driveway that looked as though a car had been parked there. I knew that since the snow amount was not that much my mom who is a city school principal would still have to report to her job. My dad’s car was always home because he parks in the garage right under my room, which shakes my bed every time it was opened or closed. I thought nothing and with all the joy shared between my blanket and me, I hit the pillow like a ton of bricks once more. No more than two hours later, maybe a little less my mom came into my room frantically wondering where my car was. I said that I had just seen it this morning parked on the driveway and I started questioning why she was still here at home and not at work. She had replied that she never mentioned going to work because it was reported as a local 2 hour delay as well. I stated that I had seen a space on the driveway and asked where she had gone so early in the morning which left a spot open on the driveway. She said that she had parked on the street the night before and my dad had used my car and put it on the driveway. The cops came within 15 minutes and wrote up the stolen car report for my Honda Civic. The fact that someone had stolen something that was so dear to me hurt my esteem and actually made me sick, literally nauseous. And being an important asset to my family as it was no more than a months old acquisition made me feel even worst. How can someone have some much malice toward another that they would blatantly disrespect them by taking property? The incidence of jealousy and the types of situations that arouse jealousy vary across societies. A least that’s what I figured. I’d always heard about these stories from people that lived in the boon docks...
