The second would consist of providing equal access to all social institutions and racial parity. They wanted equal representation in all walks of life for example congress, police, doctors, lawyers, to name a few. Dr. Martin Luther King is a fine example of the tactics used to achieve these goals. He formed a coalition with sympathetic whites and he presented the true facts of the discriminations that the African American faced. He knew that there where some good whites with the same morals and values that would empathies with the struggles they faced. He also used a non-violent direct action approach. This approach of non-violence was biblical and would appeal to the Christian based society as well as others that believed in equality. The second perspective is the Nationalist which comes from the separatist which is the opposite of the inclusionist. From the nationalist perspective their first assumption would be that African American’s are Americans who happen to be in America. So they are saying this is only a place to live but not considered their home. In other words they should go back to their roots which would not be America. They also believed that white supremacy is fundamental to the United States. And that the black man would never be treated fair or just while dealing with the white man. In addition the white society is not trust worthy and African Americans can’t get justice. Some of the Black Nationalist that tried to make Nationalism successful would include Malcolm X, Farrakhan, Asante, Marcus Garvey and Afro centrism. The goals and tactics used were self af...
