How do the first 4 commandments separate the Jews from the pagans? With the first commandment No other Gods this means that the Jews only have one God. But the pagan world there was many. In the pagan world there is a God for just about everything form the sky, to water, love and so on. With the Jews the one God governs everything to the sky weather and even a persons fate also known as destiny. But in the pagan world there is a God for each thing. Also whenever a ruler says to worship a new God the pagan world thinks that it is a new God that they haven’t been introduced to yet, but the Jewish people belive that there can be no other Gods but for their own single God, and so to worship another God would be betray their own and to bring down the punishment of their own God, which could result in dire consequences. But if the ruler says that not worshipping the new God would result in punishment the Jews would choose punishment by their own God, instead of punishment of a human kind.
