Every year hundreds of babies are born and put up for adoption due to their abnormal features. It is a sad fact; however this is true. Genetic manipulation extends the belief that all children are wanted. It will embrace the belief that all children are to be acceptable in their genetic traits by satisfying our wants for their identities. I, as mother of a child with Down syndrome, don’t regret having an abnormal child; however, seeing many children who can interact with their parents brings melancholy to my eyes.
