Yet “It continues to be Americas major advantage over other countries.”(Pg.5; Follows) On the issue of taxes both sides argue different stories. “[I] immigrant families pay more in taxes than do native families.”(Pg.8; Simon) While the other side would argue “they commonly assert that immigrants pay less in taxes than they receive in the form of social service benefits.” (Pg.2; Barbour) Another major argument is one on jobs, where as the opposes would state, “immigration harms the U.S. economy.” (Pg. Barbour) or “by increasing the supply of labor and settling down the wages of those who retain their jobs.” (Pg. 2; Barbour) People on the side for immigration point out that they not only take jobs but they create them, and also point out while they may be immigrants “New arrivals bring valuable technical knowledge with them, and the proportion with postgraduate education is far higher than the average of the native labor force.”(Pg.8; Simon) “[M] many celebrate Americas history as a nation of immigrants and support the continuation of this tradition, which they believe has created a society rich and diverse cultural attributes.” (Pg. 3 Barbour) America alone can base its whole growth on immigrants, and immigration.
