...ny other reasons out there why people dont want to die. But arnt you supposed to go to heaven and be happy? Is it even possible to slow down the aging process? There is curently many medicines that you can take that helps slow down the aging process. Studies have shown that these medicines that are out don't really help as much as they say they do. "They may be unsafe, causing harm to their users" (Hastings Center). Also, this just slows it down, it does not actually stop or reverse it. "Man has occasionally post-poned death but never wholly prevented it" (Walford). The Biomedical field is on the brink of enhancing research. The only problem with this research is the funding. The research would be very expensive. Aging is not a disease it is a natural cause, so it will be alot more challenging to fix it. However, if aging is not broken, why fix it? People want to stop something that is so natural and happens to everybody. And everyone wants it for different reasons. Aging can be a positive experience. With age comes wisdom and special social roles. "Only during the last century have so many people reached old age. With more and more people living longer, and thus--at least potentially--growing wiser and wiser, who is to say what the aging mind may contribute in the future?"(Paul B. Baltes and Margret M. Baltes). There are other more serious problems in the world like cancer and aids that people think should be looked upon first. Then again, people do die of old age too. Aging is a very debatable subject with many views. There will probably be some controversy that in stop the aging process it would not be the natural life cycle that god has given us. But if this is your feeling on the situation than you should not take the medicene if it comes about.
