...on. After earning his degree in Business and Accounting at Michigan State University, he moved to Milwaukee. While working at a bank, one of his friends informed him about a trainee position at a radio station. Once he was hired, he fell in love with it immediately and has continued to do it for the past ten years. As the General Sales Manager, Darryl’s main objective is to generate sales for the station, but he stay busy all day. Most sales come from advertisements at station sponsored events or sound bites played on the radio. There is always a conference call to make or a meeting to attend. Darryl stated that, “ This is hard work, but if you really want something, you’re gonna work hard to get it.” Staying busy and always faced with a Brown 2 challenged is what he loves most about his job. Even though it can be frustrating at times, he says it can also be fun. Plus, he has a chance to meet a number of different people from many backgrounds. “I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing” Darryl said when I asked him about his future goals. He said he is completely satisfied where he is, but there is always a need for change. The next step up for Darryl would be VP or Director of Sales which he is considering now.
