...n are confronted with a watchman of Herot. Beowulf explains of their intentions by saying “Our errand is a great one, our business with the glorious king of the Danes no secret; there’s nothing dark or hidden in our coming. You know (if we’ve heard the truth, and been told honestly) that your country is cursed with some strange, vicious creature”(165-170). He further explains that he knows he can get rid of this creature in his heart by saying “Perhaps Hrothgar can hunt, here in my heart, / for some way to drive this devil out- if anything will ever end the evils afflicting your wise and famous lord. Here he can cool his burning sorrow” (173-178). Beowulf uses his wisdom to explain the situation fully to the watchman instead of being rude, and having the watchman suspect Beowulf is lying. Bill Clinton is also very smart this exert reads “Clinton was graduated from Georgetown University and in 1968 won a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. He further shows his strength, “Grendel twisted in pain, and the bleeding sinews deep in his shoulder snapped, muscle and bone split” (374-376). Beowulf is so strong that he ripped Grendels’ arm right off. Beowulf’s strength is unmatched as no man in Herot could have stood up to Grendel, “He is the strongest man alive. He has the strength of thirty men in his arm alone”(“Beowulf: The Great Warrior”). Even though Bill Clinton does not have that much physical strength, he does possess a different type of strength. Bill Clinton had strong beliefs, “Bill Clinton's grandparents, Eldridge and Edith Cassidy, taught him strong values and beliefs. They owned a small grocery store just outside of Hope, and despite the segregation laws of the time, they allowed people of all races to purchase goods on credit” (“It all began in a place called Hope”). The article also states, “They taught their young grandson that everyone is created equal and that people should not be treated differently because of the color of their skin. This was a lesson Bill Clinton never forgot” (“It all began in a place called H...
