... unrealistic. TASK 2 2.1 I believe that viewing a lot of violence in the media or spending hours playing violent computer games can be risky for children as they desensitize to violence. Children can not differentiate between reality and unrealistic computer games, which do not show the pain, and so they become accustomed to the brutality.Because children see killing and hurting over and over, and are given rewards for doing so, they are taught that hurting is an acceptable way of problem solving. Psychologists “have shown that playing a lot of violent video games is related to having more aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (Anderson & Bushman, 2001)”. Furthermore one can observe that children who spent a big amount of time in front of the TV or play violent computer games afterwards show aggressive behaviour towards other children. Children are very susceptible to violence because they copy what they see and are very easily influenced. Especially loners or children with little social contacts are likely to be influenced by violence in comparisson to children with an intact social surrounding and family are not.
