...meone with an alternative, more humane way of achieving the exact same outcome? “Every human being of adult years and sound mind has a right to determine what shall be done with his own body.” Yes, this is quote is exactly how our legal system operates. As human beings we should have the right to our on choices that relate to our body. There is nothing more undignified than a person that loses their bodily functions, cannot move, bathe or take care of themselves. If there is know chance of recovery then one should have the choice to decide how he/she passes on to another world. The denial of food and water results in an incredibly slow and uncomfortable death (approximately 2 weeks). Dry lips, seizures, nosebleeds and blackening tongues are some of the characteristics of starving to death. Imagine your mother whose gums are stuck to her teeth and her tongue rolled to the back of her throat. Not only is this process inhumane and cruel for the patient, but it is also the family, nursing staff and those close to the patient that have to deal with the horrifying and brutal procedure of dying. It takes approximately two weeks for someone to die with the removal of necessary nutrition and hydration. Not only am I disgusted about how slow, painful and inhumane the process is but, it is also such a waste of money, time, resources etc, that could be used to help those in need. My daughter is currently on the waiting list to be operated on, due to the fact that there are no hospital beds for her. This puts me in a furious position knowing that hospital beds are being wasted purely on ignorance, when they could be occupied helping those in need. Every...
